Torre
Torre is a tea light holder designed to be flat-packed. It is an exploration on the material wood, challenging the norms of wood only being used in producing solid structure products.
Inspiration
The word "Torre" is the Italian translation for tower. I was inspired to make the tea light holder in the form of a skyscraper, as skyscrapers represents prosperity and an endless journey in reaching new heights. Through my design, I hope to elevate the dining experience for my users.
Living hindges
Through unique patterns laser-cut on a piece of plywood, it gave wood the property of being "flexible". With the pattern, it has also distorted the light emitted by the candle, shining an array of lights.
